The Confluence
Elegance, Unforced.
The Confluence is conceived as a home where different generations, spaces and landscapes come together, each retaining its own character within a continuous living environment.
Designed for a multigenerational family, the house places shared living at its heart while allowing room for independence. A generous sequence of kitchen, dining and living spaces provides a natural setting for everyday encounters, while quieter retreats and private rooms accommodate different rhythms of family life.
The central living spaces open towards gardens on both their northern and southern sides. To the north, the house extends into outdoor spaces for gathering; to the south, a more intimate garden brings greenery close to daily life. Natural light enters from both directions, giving the interior a changing character throughout the day.
This relationship with nature continues vertically. A sunken garden carries daylight and planting down to the basement, connecting spaces for entertaining and celebration with the landscape above. Double-height volumes, framed openings and gentle curves guide movement through the house, allowing spaces to unfold gradually while maintaining a sense of connection across different levels.
The architectural expression is deliberately restrained. Deeply recessed windows, sculpted walls and generous proportions establish a quiet sense of presence. A warm, understated material palette carries this language into the interior, allowing light, texture and the surrounding landscape to shape the atmosphere of each space.
The Confluence finds its elegance not in a singular gesture, but in the natural relationships between its many parts — a home that offers both togetherness and independence, where different generations can share a life while making room for their own.
