McIntyre responds to the gentle slope of its Burwood site through a composition of stepped, rectilinear forms. Thirty-six residences are brought together in a building that balances architectural order with the varied conditions of individual homes. A series of light-coloured frames, recessed balconies and vertical screens establishes depth and rhythm across the façade. The stepped composition breaks down the building's scale, while planted terraces and garden edges soften its relationship with the surrounding residential streetscape. Garden-level residences connect directly with the landscape, while elevated apartments and penthouses enjoy increasingly expansive outlooks. Within the residences, generous floor plans and full-height openings extend everyday living towards private balconies and terraces. Natural stone, warm timber and integrated joinery establish a cohesive interior language, with attention given to both material expression and the practical requirements of domestic life. McIntyre explores how apartment living can offer a diversity of spatial experiences within a coherent architectural whole, responding to the particular qualities of its site rather than imposing a singular residential model.
