Harcourt extends a heritage residence through a spatial concept of stretching, with landscape providing the connection between the existing house and its contemporary addition.

A central courtyard draws the garden into the heart of the plan, shaping the transition between old and new while bringing light and landscape into the surrounding spaces. The addition establishes a distinct architectural language through strong horizontal volumes, deeply framed openings and generous glazing, allowing the interiors to open towards the courtyard and garden.

Within this composed geometry, a sculptural staircase introduces a contrasting sense of movement. The interplay between solid form, open space and landscape redefines the relationship between inside and outside, allowing the heritage residence to accommodate new ways of living while retaining its connection to the past.
